Day Nursery Ruth A Lilly Center    Auxiliary members are set for a fun time making holiday crafts with the children at Day Nursery Ruth A. Lilly Center, at the next regularly scheduled meeting  Friday, December 3, from 10:30-11:30am.
Former preschool teacher and current co-president Joan Lyday says that the craft will be simple for us and the children since our time with them will be limited to one hour.
“This holiday meeting presents an opportunity to introduce prospective members to the Auxiliary and see one of Day Nursery’s seven centers in action,” says Kathy Wall, co-president elect. “What better way to share the holiday spirit than with young, energetic children and to create holiday memories for years to come.”
The Day Nursery Lilly Center is located at 3522 N. Central Ave. RSVP to Mary Catherine Lotti at 594.8922 or mloti3062 (at) aol.com

As always, there was a good turnout for the Day Nursery Auxiliary Annual Meeting held Friday, May 7 at the Meridian Hills Country Club. Outgoing president Shirley Romine presented the Day Nursery Association a check for $20,000 which brings the total donation for the membership year to $30,000! In addition to this donation, Shirley announced that 23 members made a contribution to the special scholarship matching challenge and the total donated to the Association from that initiative will be over $6,500 (donations were still being tallied as I left the meeting so I will update this number when it becomes available.) During the business meeting, the membership voted to approve the slate of officers (see our new leaders listed to the right). Incoming Co-Presidents Joan Lyday and Spencer Scott presented Shirley Romine with a gold Day Nursery Auxiliary logo charm to thank her for her year of service. Six members were honored for joining the 50 Year Club. Marjorie Meyer was the only member of six who was able to attend. Shirley read a nice note sent by Char Lugar who was unable to attend the honor due to two grandsons graduating from college on the same weekend. Other 50 year members honored were Mary Helen Dobbs, Dorothy Elliott, Patsy Hueber, and B.J. Maley.  Here are some pictures from the annual meeting. To see a larger image, just click on the picture.
